Accepting the numbers and methodology as accurate, I still would caution drawing too many conclusions from this. What IQ scores measure are how well you do on IQ tests. There may very well be some racial component here, but I would not generalize that to something as complex as intelligence. As I've said before, I scored 164 on my last test. Anyone who knows me will verify, I'm closer to Ben Stein than Einstein.

I agree with raz. Let me point out also that how well someone does on a test has a lot to do with whether primary needs of food, shelter, and water are being met. Maybe the people in sub-Saharan Africa didn't do so well because their basic physical needs aren't being met. Just for kicks, how about we send all the Jews and Asians over to Africa for three generations and have all the Africans come here? Then retest and see how everyone scores.

Don't make me have to use the F-word, you gawddamn Race-traitors! I think I made it abundantly clear that you can NOT determine an individual's intelligence based simply on his or her Race.

What I'm saying is that that you can't deny the difference in average IQ scores by Race, and that I'm interested in understanding why those differences exist. For all I know, people in sub-Saharan Africa don't have access to No. 2 lead pencils, which are needed to properly fill out the test.

Correlation does not necessarily imply causation. I would imagine that there is a socio-economic aspect here that is being ignored.

you all make good points but you are over looking the fact that black people for the most part recieve less education than jews ,whites and asians. I do believe if there is a racial component to IQ,then the whites make up for thier lack of athletics by being smarter. This also helps explain penis size. Blacks having larger penises because for centuries they may have used them to attract mates and jews and asians may have relied on forced marraige? Oh and what physical features do aliens supposeldy have? Large head almond eyes,right? if in fact asians are more advanced, aliens may be the next stage in our cycle of evolution? just throwin that out there.

I'm not quite sure what to think about any of this. Being a regular 'ol white guy, it isn't fun to hear about an inherent genetic predisposition to mediocrity. Nobody wants the sense of futility of being unable to grow and change. Perhaps the seemingly ubiquitous sentiment that "blacks are dumb" is making black folks underperform/lose motivation? Stereotypes are a strong beast. I don't know, I'm not researcher

Also, what are the implications for IQ, anyway? Can we deduce from the number not only how fast someone can learn something, but what specific material he/she could learn? That's to say, are IQ scores telling of an invisible glass-ceiling, that filters out those that can learn something like Differential Calculus, and those that can't? If so, shouldn't there be an IQ number that tells us who can play certain music, understanding certain books, draw certain connections or whatever else inherently. A sort of "You Must be this IQ to be in The Dead Milkmen" sign.

IQ tests dont exactly tell you how smart you are,just how many trivial things you know! For example a person in Cambodia may be more street smart than an American Harvard graduate. Although the American is "smarter" if you place him in Cambodia he would probably be fucked. Now if you placed the Cambodian in New york he would probably make something of himself! Honestly "IQ" is just a result of your environment......and dogface your an asshole.
